1. Who operates TripTrak

TripTrak is a service operated by Jason Saunders (“we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices available to you when you use TripTrak or its website.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use TripTrak, we may collect:

  • your email address, authentication credentials handled by Supabase and optional display name;
  • account information and subscription status;
  • trips, stays, dates, budgets, expenses, categories, currencies and other content you enter;
  • settings and preferences stored on your device; and
  • basic technical or diagnostic information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.

We do not collect or store your payment-card details. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe.

3. Authentication and account information

TripTrak uses Supabase to provide account authentication and data storage. Authentication information is used to create your account, keep you signed in, reset your password and protect access to your data.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, please submit a request through our Support form.

4. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • provide and maintain TripTrak;
  • save and sync your trip, stay, budget and expense information;
  • calculate budgets, currency conversions and travel-spending insights;
  • manage accounts, Pro subscription status and billing;
  • respond to support requests;
  • maintain security and prevent misuse; and
  • improve the reliability and functionality of the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Legal basis for processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the service you request, to meet legal obligations and for legitimate interests such as securing, maintaining and improving TripTrak. Where consent is required, we will rely on consent and you may withdraw it.

6. Third-party services

TripTrak uses third-party providers to operate the service:

  • Supabase for authentication and data storage;
  • Stripe for subscription payments and billing; and
  • Netlify for application hosting and delivery.

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. They receive information only as needed for the services they provide.

7. Cookies, local storage and analytics

TripTrak uses essential authentication cookies to keep users signed in. The app also uses local storage on your device for preferences such as theme and app settings.

The TripTrak marketing website does not currently use advertising cookies or analytics services. If that changes, this policy will be updated and any consent required by law will be requested.

8. Storage and security

Your account and app data are stored using Supabase and may also be processed by the providers described above. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and contact us through our Support form if you suspect unauthorised access.

9. Data retention

We retain your information while your account is active or for as long as needed to provide TripTrak. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, billing or accounting purposes.

Following a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymise personal information within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.

10. Your rights and account deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent.

To exercise a privacy right or request access to, correction of or deletion of your TripTrak account and associated data, submit a request through our Support form. Use the email address connected to your account so TripTrak can review the request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

11. International data transfers

Supabase, Stripe and Netlify may process or store information in countries other than your own. Where applicable, transfers are handled using the provider’s safeguards and in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

12. Children’s privacy

TripTrak is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please use our Support form so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TripTrak or its legal obligations change. The latest version will be available on this page, and the “Last updated” date will show when it was revised.
